A cubit is a linear measure of approximately 18 inches";
Life's span is length of life, measured in time"; Stature is the height of a body, animal or human, measured in cubits, inches, feet, etc. Adding a cubit to one's lifespan would be like adding eighteen inches to his lifetime. It's complete nonsense. The genuine Word of God could not possibly say that. The NIV, wrong in so many other verses, at least makes sense in this one: "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" |
