"But we do see Him who has been made for a litle while lower than the angels, namely Jesus, because of the suffering of death..." |
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. |
| Whether or not Jesus was made lower than the angels for a little while has no relevance here. It is a ridiculous rewrite. But when they say that He was made lower than the angels because of the suffering of death, then even those who adore the modern nonsense would have to grit their teeth, and teach the Bible as it had been taugh for many years before modern Bibles came along. Jesus was made lower than the angels for the suffering of death, not because of the suffering of death. Angels are spirits that cannot die. Humans are lower than angels; humans can die. So Christ was made lower than angels - that is, He was human - for the purpose of dying, not because of dying. | |
