The NASV has Peter capable of seeing the wind. But that is humanly impossible.
No one has ever seen wind. "The wind bloweth where it listeth,
and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it
cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the
Spirit" (John 3:8).
The KJV makes much more sense. Peter didn't see the wind. Instead he saw the wind "boisterous." Modernists ought to forgive the inspired writer for taking a slight shortcut, apparently assuming that most people had enough common sense to figure out what he was saying (Even inspired Gospel writers apparently didn't count on modern Bible translators). Peter saw the wind "boisterous," doesn't mean that he saw the wind, it only means that he saw how the wind was stirring up the water.
